BROWN ALGAE

Recycled Plexiglas, resin and low-power halogen lamps.

Taking inspiration from the setting I made for the “Imbarchino”,
I thought I’d give the vegetation the chance to get out of its ‘enclosure’.
The brown alga was the starting point from where I began to encode
a precise form in motion.
I used Plexiglas because it can be easily
bent and shaped so that it gives the idea of movement.

The material was recovered from the scrap of companies specialized in
cutting and selling Plexiglas.
The purpose of the lamp is to
brighten dark areas attracting people’s curiosity.
Its inaccurate and fluctuating form, pouring like an
unrestrainable vegetal stream projecting towards the sky,
wants to wrong-foot the observer sprouting in his eyes.
