POPULAR ORALITY

2009

Linden wood and paint.

600x400x550

This sculpture was created for an event of the Italian popular culture network.

My desire is to convey the feeling of a humanity in conflict between the amount of information it receives
and the apparent impossibility of expressing its opinions in its own right, increasingly suffocated by a
generalized hypnosis, in which man is the victim of superficial needs and desires,
devoid of deep contents but full of tension towards a society that does not grant the achievement
of the same ideals that it proposes.

The layers that, with a continuous overlap, submerge and almost suffocate man,
are articulated in forms reminiscent of climbing vegetation that embraces and suffocates its host.

Man rebels and full of tension proceeds towards the only primordial expression of rebellion
that nature grants him: the cry, in the name of survival.
